From the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering (CIMarE) news article by Tiffany O’Donnell.

Last week the 3rd year Marine Engineering class had a little change of scenery with a field trip to Halifax.
We began with a tour of the Canadian Coast Guard/Garde côtière canadienne base in Dartmouth. Luckily, for us we were able to see a little bit of everything including the CCGS Capt. Jaques Cartier, the CCGS M Perley and the CCGS Hudson. You can’t ask for a better contrast of old and new technology.

A huge thank you to the crews and engineers taking time out of their day to talk to us, show us around and offer their advice.

The next day we visited COVE. We had a great time learning about all the new and innovative things happening in the harbour and running into some NSCC alumni.
A special thanks to Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering (CIMarE) for providing lunch and making this possible with connecting us with the right people! We so appreciate it!
